Vision Trips

Parker Crumbaker

Hello, my name is Parker Crumbaker and I’m originally from Kansas.  I caught the “travel bug” early on by walking several miles home after our farm truck broke down :).  Lots of dreaming what was out in the world and many blessed years later, I find myself working a dream job at Compassion.

I didn’t really want to do this Christian thing until I turned 21, and it’s turned into a wild adventure.  I turned my life over to God and it became clear that I loved learning to be a a servant leader.  What makes people care about other’s in a foreign land?  What motivates us to do something about it all?  I loved seeing people grow in their faith, and no better place to do that then on a missions trip.

I really started caring about children on a missions trip to Cambodia.  I was curious about being with orphan children for the whole time, as I’d rather be with the older kids.  God really opened my heart though to the beauty of a child’s heart and how we are stewards of every facet of their lives as adults.  Leading and serving as a trip planner at Compassion Intl has continued that passion.

I currently live in Denver and enjoy being active.  I love business ideas and executing those ideas as well as exploring what this beautiful state has to offer.  God has a wonderful journey for us all and I’m glad I can participate with you in that.  God bless!

I am originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, where I grew up and attended New Mexico State University studying Business/Marketing.   I met my husband, Charley, while on internship in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.   We have been married since 1993.  While still in Lake Tahoe, I worked with my husband in the advertising industry for five years then went on to tourism sales.  In 1998, we started a family and now we have three wonderful children, Courtney, Charles, and Sydney.   God allowed me the opportunity to teach at a Christian Pre-K/K school in what I didn’t know was His preparation for my next journey.

In August 2009, we moved to Colorado Springs where I began a career of homeschooling our kids.  Once they all transitioned into the TCA College Pathways program full-time (middle/high school), I transitioned back into career mode (part-time) at Reach Beyond (formerly HCJB Global) in Advancement, where I served for four years.  God took my love for ministry, administration, as well as children, and led me to Compassion where I am very excited to serve!

I love jazz, skiing, hiking with Cheyenne-the pooch, and going on Colorado adventures with my family.
