Coming to Colorado and Compassion are two of the best gifts God has given to me! After driving out here to visit my son 20 years ago, I realized that God was leading me to move to Colorado, so I applied for teaching positions and was offered one. Now, 20 years later, he is retired from the Air Force and enjoying his family and I am retired from teaching and enjoying mine. Several years ago, I looked for some way to remain productive and around people. Thankfully, the bookstore manager was looking for someone to fill in a little. What a joy that has been for me! Hearing the stories from employees and guests is my favorite thing here.
I have been at Compassion for 11 years. Before that my husband and I were full time youth ministers for 15 years and I stayed home with my three boys for 12 years until they all started school. Before the boys came along I managed Christian Book Stores. My husband, Jim, and I have been married for 26 years, we were high school sweethearts and meet when we were 15 & 16. We have three sons; Chase 23, Caleb 21, and Carson 16. Oh and let’s not forget our “daughter” Roxy the spoiled yorkie who is 8. We moved here 12 years ago jobless to help our friends start a church plant. We now both work at Compassion. I manage both the online and GMC store here at Compassion. A fun fact about me: I come from a very large family, I am the oldest child of 4 siblings, the oldest grandchild on my dad’s side of 19 and the oldest grandchild on my mom’s side of 13 and I am married to an only child! Poor guy!
